The Network

The Polymernetzwerk offers professional support and answers questions for network participants in regard to all issues relevant to their business.

Founded in 2002 as a platform for the plastics industry within the Ruhr region, this network represents the central and future oriented project of the ChemSite Initiative.

One important milestone was the implementation of the degree program "Master of Polymer Science" at FH Gelsenkirchen/TU Dortmund.

In 2009 the strategy changed its focus to supporting innovation and industrial development. The Polymernetzwerk is a  neutral but central coordination and contact platform for this entire value chain. This includes polymer manufacturers, converters and polymer processors as well as equipment manufacturers, dealers and R&D institutes.

The Polymernetzwerk's aim is to improve the connection between this industry and various other institutes in order to optimize the competitive position of each network members.

The network functions in four sectors of activity: Technology & Innovation - Market & Management - Qualification & Training - Economy & Legislation.

Embedded in the economic-political strategy of North-Rhine Westphalia, the Polymernetzwerk is positioned as a regional industrial network within "kunststoffland NRW e.V.", the state network of the plastics industry.
